We are a licensed home-based baking business located in the snowy White Mountains of New Hampshire. My name is Sarah Lamoureux, the owner and head baker. I am also a mother to two girls and love that the somewhat unusual trajectory of my working life has lead me away from the corporate life and onto the entrepreneurial path where I am able to be by their side while still pursuing my passions. I am unsure when my obsession with the French macaron began, but they are my absolute favorite sweet. I came up with the idea for this business out of necessity. After relocating to Northern New Hampshire from my husband and I’s home state of Connecticut, I could not find a single place to purchase them locally. I considered this a challenge to master the notoriously difficult and temperamental cookie. Despite being an accomplished baker, attempting the elusive French macaron was intimidating. To my pleasant surprise, mastering them came quite naturally! Once I had perfected them, I decided they were too pretty and too delicious to keep them to ourselves; et voila, Vivienne’s Petite Parisian Pastries was born!
I began by sharing my love of French macarons with our local community through our Farmer’s Market, then joining with a bakery and a locavore retail shop on our Main Street and then expanded the business to offer shipping nationwide! In the past year I have also expanded our menu to include custom cakes and decorated cookies for all occasions large and small! As our business has expanded, along with our family, I have shifted completely to custom ordering and we no longer have a "brick and mortar" presence on Main Street, however we stay connected sourcing all of our special ingredients locally whenever possible. I am always seeking out new creative opportunities in my kitchen and take great pride and care in every single order. We are a very small business, which allows me to treat each order as if it were for our own family and offer each of my clients a one-on-one experience they will not find from larger companies. I truly look forward to baking for you; lots of love is our not-so-secret ingredient and I hope that it shines through our sweets and into your own lives!
